All of our brands are supported by a product warranty. The minimum warranty period is 1 year from date of purchase but many of our brands provide warranty periods in excess of this - please refer to the table below for more information.
This covers your product against failure caused by any defects in material or workmanship but excludes faults resulting from misuse, accidental damage, modification or alteration, tampering, unsuitable physical or operating environment beyond product specifications, improper maintenance, or failure caused by a product for which we are not responsible for.
This does not affect your Statutory Rights.

Leatherman Warranty FAQs
How does the Leatherman Warranty work?
We take extraordinary measures so that your Leatherman product will give you many years of dependable service. If it doesn’t, we will gladly replace it, at our discretion, with one of equal or greater value under our 25-year guarantee for tools and 10-year guarantee for lights. This warranty excludes abuse, alteration, theft, loss or unauthorised and/or unreasonable use of your Leatherman product. Also, this warranty does not cover sheaths, accessories, imprinting, colour finishes, cleaning or sharpening. You simply have to print and fill out the Warranty Returns Form provided here.
How do I return my tool?
Once you have completed and signed the Warranty Returns form, include your tool and return it to us at the following address. Be sure to send your warranty repair via an insured and trackable service as we cannot be responsible for tools that never reach us. Please do not ship us your sheath or accessories.

Who covers the postage to return my tool?
We will ship your product back to you at our expense using a trackable shipping service.
Royal Mail won’t post my tool. What can I do?
Do make sure that you package your tool securely to ensure that there is no risk to other postal items, employees or recipients. Royal Mail will ask you to declare what is in your package and our advice would be to say that it's an "outdoor accessory" rather than a multi tool or an item that contains a knife.
How long will it take for you to look at my tool?
Your Warranty return will be inspected by our Warranty team. We'll aim to have your warranty resolved within 10 working days of receipt. Please do not email us to check on the progress of your warranty unless you have not heard from us within 10 days.
I can’t live without my Leatherman even for one day. Can you send me the parts I need so that i can repair it myself?
Our products are designed to be disassembled by factory-trained technicians only. Repaired tools are reassembled (and the pivot posts cemented) to ensure proper tension for optimum tool performance. Attempting to disassemble a Leatherman tool yourself may result in lost components and compromised tool functionality. It may also invalidate your warranty protection.
My tool has sentimental value. Can I have my old tool returned to me as well as a replacement?
Some customers do have a sentimental attachment to their tools. We regret that we are unable to send you both a replacement tool and your original tool.
Can I have a different blade fitted to my Leatherman tool?
Each Leatherman tool consists of a combination of features that makes it a unique multipurpose tool. We cannot alter or substitute different blade components from one tool version to another.
Can my replacement tool be re - engraved?
Unfortunately imprinting / engraving is not covered by the warranty. We do not have the facilities to re - engrave replacement tools.
What happens if I don’t want an alternative tool?
If the product you have has been discontinued, we may need to replace it with an alternative model. If this is the case, and you are not happy with the alternative model, please notify us with 10 days of receipt. Your replacement will need to be returned to us and upon receipt, we will arrange for your old tool to be returned to you.
I've had my Leatherman for a very long time and the belt sheath is just about worn out. How can i get a replacement?
Unfortunately sheaths and accessories are not covered by our warranty. There are a several models of sheaths for you to choose from which are shown on our accessories page.
I chose my Leatherman tool as i liked the colour but this has now worn off. Can i receive a replacement?
We regret that colour finishes are not covered by our warranty and any discolouration or depletion of the colour of your tool is due to natural wear and tear.
Can you service or sharpen my Leatherman?
We do not provide a general or blade sharpening service. Details of how to maintain your tool can be found on our Maintenance page.

General Warranty FAQs
How does the warranty work?
All of our products are warranted against material or manufacturing defects from the date of the original purchase. The length of a product’s warranty does depend on the manufacturer.
You simply have to print and fill out the Warranty Returns Form provided here, put the form and your product in the post to us and we'll take care of the rest. If a fault is found we'll repair or replace your product and send it back to you free of charge.
This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, abuse, alteration, theft, loss or unauthorised and/or unreasonable use of your product.
How do I return my product to you?
Step 1 - Package your warranty item securely
Unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for items that do not reach us. Please send your warranty repair via an insured and trackable service where delivery confirmation can be obtained if necessary. Please don't send your accessories.

The form must be completed, signed and included with your defective product in order for us to process your warranty request.
Step 2 - Ship your package to;

If a fault is found, provided it is within the manufacturer’s Warranty period, we'll replace your defective item free of charge and return it to you at our expense.
Who covers the postage?
You are responsible for shipping costs for returning your defective item to us. We will return your replacement at our cost.
How long will it take?
We aim to process all warranties within 10 working days from receipt.

Can I get on a commercial aircraft carrying my Leatherman tool?
No, at this time you cannot pass through the security checkpoint with a Leatherman tool. You may however, stow it in your checked luggage that travels under the plane. We do make one model, the Style PS that follows all the TSA specifications, for a carry-on multi-tool, but remember - ultimately it is up to the discretion of the individual TSA agent as to what they will let you carry or not. ATTENTION: UPDATED TSA KNIFE POLICY As of June 5, 2013, the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) announced they have cancelled their decision to allow knives as part of a traveller's carry-on baggage. For more information on these changes, please visit www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/prohibited-items.
Please note: Before carrying a multi-tool on a flight, please check the TSA website for a full update on their sharp object policy. TSA agents have full discretion over allowable items for the safety of all passengers and International laws may vary. Also note that Leatherman Tool Group does not warranty tools that are lost, stolen, or confiscated.
