Klean Kanteen® teams up with Vivienne Westwood and FRANK Water

19th July 2016

Vivienne Westwood FRANK Water Bottle MontageKlean Kanteen, the leader in reusable stainless steel food and beverage transport, has teamed up with FRANK Water and Vivienne Westwood, to create a stylish, limited edition Klean Kanteen bottle.

Fashion designer and activist, Vivienne Westwood, has designed the unique Klean Kanteen reusable bottle, and all profits will go to FRANK Water, a charity which funds safe drinking water and sanitation projects in India, where there are more people living without safe water than anywhere else in the world.

The newly-designed bottle coincides with Vivienne Westwood’s latest campaign, Intellectuals Unite, which calls on global citizens to take action against the progress of climate change.

“The limited edition Klean Kanteen bottle is an inspired addition to our line of products,” says Jim Osgood, CEO of Klean Kanteen. “We are delighted to be working with both FRANK Water and Dame Vivienne Westwood. FRANK Water is a wonderful charity that helps thousands of people, and Intellectuals Unite is an ideal partnership that shares Klean’s vision and values.”

Klean Kanteen are made from high quality, food-grade stainless steel. The BPA-free bottles encourage people to kick their single-use habits to reduce waste and inspire a more conscious lifestyle.

The Vivienne Westwood partnership will not only raise funds for FRANK Water, but will also highlight the importance of having access to clean, safe drinking water — an issue core to Klean’s mission. Only 500 of the limited edition bottles will be available.

“The communities we work with rely on predictable weather for their lives and livelihoods. Even the smallest rise in temperature could be devastating for them,” says Katie Alcott, FRANK Water founder and CEO. “ That’s why we’re thrilled to be working with Dame Vivienne – not only is she arguably the best-known fashion designer in the world, she’s also a passionate and committed campaigner for action around climate change.”

The limited edition Klean Kanteen’s are available online at www.frankwater.com on 18th July 2016 as well as several festivals across the UK and selected UK stockists.

Klean Kanteen Offers Solution to Coffee Cup Waste

29th March 2016

kk 500 billion to go cupsKlean Kanteen, the leading sustainable reusable stainless steel food and storage brand, has thrown its weight behind a campaign to cut coffee cup waste ahead of this year’s Caffè Culture Show.

Less than one in 400 coffee cups are currently recycled in the UK – with a staggering eight million used and thrown away each day. The figures were revealed by celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall as part of his Hugh’s War on Waste campaign.

Klean Kanteen, which has been producing reusable stainless steel bottles since 2004 has long been committed to the reduction of single-use plastic. It makes healthy and high-quality goods to replace a lifetime of single-use items such as coffee cups.

Jim Osgood, CEO of Klean Kanteen, said: “Every time you refill your Klean Kanteen cup, bottle or flask with coffee, you're making a positive choice for your own health and for the health of our planet.

“What you put into a Klean Kanteen is exactly what comes out. Plus you prevent another coffee cup from going into a landfill, or worse, into the ocean. Over a week, a month, or a year, that really adds up.”

KKCoffeeShopThe company’s environmental stewardship and fair labour philosophy has seen it donate over $1 million to 1% For The Planet and develop a line of BPA free, stainless steel products that includes pints and tumblers, vacuum insulated bottles and flasks, bottles for children, stainless steel food canisters and even growlers for beer.

Jim added: “If every coffee retailer in the UK engaged with and encouraged its customers to use a ‘keep cup’ rather than a single use when visiting their stores it would be a positive step towards reducing the huge volumes of waste created by the industry.

“Put simply, the message is the bottle.”

For the fourth year running, Klean Kanteen will be supporting the Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) Big Spring Beach Clean with each lead volunteer receiving an exclusive SAS Klean Kanteen. The annual event which takes place from 11- 17 April will unite over 7,000 volunteers to tackle the marine litter crisis in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
